Water Harvesting Tour

The drought has officially been declared!  And while we haven’t been required to reduce water consumption, it is our responsibility to do our best to contribute to water conservation here in Southern California.

Most people don’t think a substantial rainwater tank is warranted or that greywater is a feasible option.  This is your opportunity to get up close and personal with these very simple and productive technologies.  We’ll take you on a tour and explain the many aspects of rainwater harvesting in tanks and a Laundry-to-Landscape greywater system, including materials, costs, do’s and don’ts, rebates, and permitting. Did you know that you can get a 500 gallon rainwater tank for free after city and county rebates?  Did you know that you can fill it up many times over in a single year off of even a small roof?  Come see what it looks like and what is involved in installing it!

You’ll see how these systems combine to create a lush and beautiful garden with very little additional water needs.

Suggested donation of $5-25 will go toward supporting water conservation education in San Diego. Come even if you can’t pay.

Location in Mission Hills.  Address provided upon registration
